Our story
The first Charlie's Chili opened on Balboa Island in the summer of 1967 and became an instant hit. In 1972 we moved from the bay to the Newport Pier, and we have been here ever since.
Families come for the dog-friendly patio and all-day breakfast. Surfers come to watch the waves. Vacationers come for the view. Everybody comes back for the chili.
